Step1: Leading – in
(Show a book of diary to the students.)
T: I have a beautiful diary. It has a lock. I open it with a little key. Nobody can open it but me (= Only I can open it.). I wrote in it every day. It helps m
5、e to improve my English.
(Show the paragraph on the screen. Get the student to guess the meaning of the new words in blue colour: 1. lock 2. key the keys to the locks 3. but = except 4. improve = make better / raise)
Step2: Presentation
T: Wang Mei has a diary, too. Do you want to know what

Ss: Yes. We do. (They are very excited.)
T: Me too. Then let’s learn a new lesson, Lesson 38 Dear Diary. (Show the topic on the screen.)
Step3: Listening
Get the students to listen to the tape and find out the answer to the question on the screen: What’s Wang Mei’s goal? Check t

Step4: Reading
1. Get the students to read the text by themselves quickly and silently. When they find something important or difficult, they should point it out.
2. Show some important language points on the screen.

Step7: Writing
