You should do your homework for oneself．你應(yīng)該獨(dú)立完成作業(yè)。 One cant do such a thing for oneself．這樣的事一個(gè)人是做不來(lái)的。 歸納拓展 for oneself強(qiáng)調(diào)獨(dú)自做某事，無(wú)人幫忙。注意：它與in oneself / by oneself / of ones

2、elf的區(qū)別。 by oneself獨(dú)自地(alone)指單獨(dú)一個(gè)人，無(wú)人做伴 in oneself本來(lái)，本身 of oneself自動(dòng)地，自發(fā)地 The old man lives by himself in a lonely village．那位老人獨(dú)自住在一個(gè)偏僻的村子里。 The door opened of itself．門(mén)自動(dòng)開(kāi)了。 He is clever in himself．他本來(lái)就聰明。 2．Reach for伸手去夠；伸手去拿 觀察示例 She looked at his fingers with wonder as they turned each p

5、，真讓我驚奇。 歸納拓展 amaze為動(dòng)詞：對(duì)……驚奇，對(duì)……感到驚訝。類似的詞有：surprise，shock，astonish等。常用結(jié)構(gòu)：be amazed at／by；be amazed to；be amazed that。 amazing／amazed均為形容詞，注意區(qū)別意義。 4. manage to設(shè)法做到；設(shè)法完成 觀察示例 She fell off a ladder and even though Tony was in the next room，he managed to catch her．她從梯子上摔了下來(lái)，雖然Tony在隔壁房間里，他還是設(shè)法接住了她。

9、ve behind遺留，把……撇在后面 leave out漏掉，忽略 leave off停止，中斷 7．protect．．．from保護(hù)／防止、免受……之苦 觀察示例 Tony had protected a human being from harm．托尼已經(jīng)保護(hù)了一個(gè)人免受傷害。 They tried their best to protect people against the war．他們竭盡全力保護(hù)人們不受戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)之苦。 The peasants tried to protect their crops from cold．農(nóng)民們?cè)O(shè)法保護(hù)他們的作物不被凍壞。 歸納拓展

10、 protect．．．from／against sth．保護(hù)、防止。既可以指防御敵人的攻擊，又可指防御自然界的損害。如風(fēng)雨、日照、寒冷、炎熱、疾病等。 特別提示 注意與prevent．．．from的區(qū)分。前者主要強(qiáng)調(diào)“保護(hù)”，而后者主要強(qiáng)調(diào)“阻止”。 8．search for尋找、搜尋 觀察示例 ．．．a(chǎn)nd an amazing mind with which he searched for explanations of everything in the past， (Asimov)還擁有驚人的智慧，用來(lái)探尋對(duì)目前和過(guò)去一切事的解釋。 The police searched

11、 the prisoner to see if he had a gun． 警察搜了那個(gè)囚犯的身，看他是否有槍。 He searched every corner for the missing cat．他搜遍了每個(gè)角落來(lái)找丟失的貓。 歸納拓展 search既可以作及物動(dòng)詞又可作不及物動(dòng)詞。作及物動(dòng)詞意思是“搜(身)檢查”；作不及物動(dòng)詞是“尋找、搜尋”的意思。固定搭配為：search．．．for；search for．．．；in search of．．．均有“尋找”的意思。 9．take...seriously嚴(yán)肅對(duì)待、認(rèn)真對(duì)待 觀察示例 This really surprise
