1.a(chǎn) 考查冠詞。a large amount of為固定短語,意為“許多,大量”,故填a。
2.a(chǎn)cross 考查介詞。根據(jù)第一段中的“all the way across the Atlantic Ocean”可知,此處與其照應(yīng),表示非洲的沙塵暴能夠橫穿海洋破壞空氣質(zhì)量,故填across。
分析句子結(jié)構(gòu)可知,本句應(yīng)用It,在句中作形式主語,真正的主語為that引導(dǎo)的從句,故填I(lǐng)t。
6、。need to do意為“需要做”,此處表示植物需要營養(yǎng)來確保其生長,表目的,故填to grow。
10.a(chǎn)re joined 分析句子結(jié)構(gòu)可知,句子主語與動(dòng)詞join之間為被動(dòng)關(guān)系,故用被動(dòng)語態(tài);主語為“The thick rainforest and the desert dust”,是復(fù)數(shù),故填are joined。
Megan is a bright and curious little girl, as most children at age eight. When walking she looks up, down, or sideways, never where she's going. One day, she spotted, partly covered by leaves and litter, a $100 bill. She looked to see if anyone was watching and bent down to crumple
8、(弄皺) the bill in her tiny hand. Sliding it into her jacket pocket, she took another guilty look and then hurried off to school.
Her day was spent watching her jacket hung on the wall by the door. During lunch, she took it off and ran to the far side of the playground to pull out the crumpled bill
9、 and stare at it and see that it was real and belonged to her. When some older kids wandered by, she put it back into her pocket quickly and rushed back into the classroom.
It wasn't until she was riding home on the school bus that she started to wonder about whom the bill had belonged to before
10、it came to be hers.“Probably somebody rich,” she thought. “Why else would he be so careless with $100 bills?”
She imagined a tall man in a fine wool jacket walking to his big car and pulling out a roll of money, not noticing one bill drifting (飄) to the ground. Putting the roll back in his pocket
11、, he climbed into his car and drove away. Just then, a wind blew some leaves to cover most of the lost bill.
But, then she thought, what if the bill had been a present for his little niece with her grandma because her parents were killed in a car crash? She'd have treasured that $100 bill because
12、 it came from her generous uncle. And she'd be dreaming, even now if she hadn't realized she'd lost it, of all the toys and treats that the bill could buy. She could use it to buy a present for her grandmother. She would be heartbroken to find she'd lost that $100 bill.
