3、mmer, therefore I have been installed with the basic qualification of being a member in the bank. Compared to local banks in China, HSBC has more experienced management and globally recognized credit.In order to fully expereince banking system and chase after my dream in commercial banks,I chose to
4、spend my 2016 summer time in HSBC. (2) Educational background: I major in international finance and have well finished all my school curriculum, I would like to have myself improved and transfer the words into practice with my great exertion. (3) Interpersonal purpose: In HSBC I will be
5、showered with great people and brilliant minds which will be cherished and stored , serving as secret weapons to my future career in banking system. --The reasons why I am interested in HSBC: (3) Invisible connection before we met: In the class of Human Resource Management during my exchange p
6、rogram in 2015 in Canada ,I was shown several episodes of inspiring ads from HSBC and saved this memory and great motivation to join this creative family till I got this chance of internship. (3) My everlasting devotion of teamwork : I am an outgoing and process-driven leader in my association (S
7、HFC Model United Nations Association )in our university. Objectively I exert myself and my team to get to the ideal position efficiently; On the subjective side I always try my best to keep the balance and make every member satisfied based on what they have achieved. I focus on the give-and-take
8、within the team and the trust between members as well as set detailed terms and conditions to ensure the efficiency. Therefore, I would like to continue this teamwork and length the sense of belonging in HSBC and do my own contribution. * 2. We want our graduates and interns to
9、 have successful careers at HSBC and, therefore, we want to ensure that you have the relevant skills for your programme. We are equally interested in recruiting graduates and interns from finance and non-finance degrees. We are particularly interested in the transferable skills that you have gained
10、from the variety of experiences that you have had. 7 / 7 Question What skills do you believe are important to be successful on the HSBC graduate or intern programme for which you are applying? Please give specific examples of how you have demonstrated some of these skills. 1. Team sp
11、irit and communication skills (1) Teamwork serves as a connection to smooth the process and improve efficiency. When I was in the social practice department in our university as the president assistant, we held certain activity to recollect used clothes to people in poverty. I was in charge of 10
12、 fellows to make it finished. So firstly I set a target for collecting 5 bags of clothes within 3 hours, then I discussed with fellow about the places with the highest students flow as well as dispatch each individual to different spots, they would be allowed to help each other with their own wor
13、k done. When it approached the end, we reached the target successfully thanks to our exertion to this team. (2)Communication skills help you better serve your customers. During my intern in BOC, I was assigned as lobby manager and dealt with different types of customers, therefore , the acquisiti
14、on of communication skills is needed , as well as the ability to cover urgencies. 2. Fast learning and learning by practicing The awareness and ability to learn can decide one ’ s ability to adjust to a new environment. For example when I was in BOC, I always learn from my superiors and foll
15、ow their exemplary manners so as to fully improve myself. When I was in my university I always grab the methodologies from professors and their package of solutions to certain problems, and apply these to my job fields. 3. Profound acquisition of professional knowledge and problem solving:
16、In order to better understand the operation in the job, the candidate has to be installed with the basic understanding of commercial bank. Even the non-finance candidates should get prepared for certain amount of knowledge and skills needed . In spite of the knowledge pool required, one has to be
17、 efficient in problem solving and cultivate the ability to cover the uncertainties. * 3. At HSBC our objective is to be the worldalso must consider the potential risks. ’ s leading international bank. In all that we do, we Question In your opinion,
18、 what are the top three risks facing HSBC globally and why? Personally I think the following three concerns should be addressed as the top three problems for HSBC: (1) Money laundering: This can be a worldwide problem for any one of the global banks. Given that commercial banks has th
19、e responsibility to keep secret of customers ’profile and financial records, tracing and detecting the resource of laundering problem can be filled with difficulties. Besides, this procedure can cause trouble to customers therefore worsen the feedback from them to the bank. (2) Info
20、rmation asymmetry and transparency: Since most of the listed company have multiple financial reports to be shown to any part. For example, the report with lower profit levels will be sent to tax bureau for less taxation portion, but most of the time the bank will receive one with greater performa
21、nce , indicating the positive signal of that company. The limited transparency has to be detected and revealed by experienced customer managers . This contrived prediction may cause trouble and uncertainty to HSBC. (3) Limited expansion of distributive network and branches Unlike the traditi
22、onal local banks, global banking confront with the local legislation problem. Extra capital is required and there are geographical limitations on additional branches. Therefore distributive networks and branches which are great openings to attract large amount of deposits can be too expen
23、sive to realize. News revealed in 2015 that HSBC would cut off 12% of the world ’ s branches and retreat from the market in Brazil andTurkey. 4. Everything we do at HSBC is done with “ CourageousIntegrity We”. expect everyone, no matter w
24、hat their level or experience, to take accountability for doing the right thing. Question Please describe a situation when you have challenged someone about a decision or an action you felt was wrong. Please address the following questions in your response: -What was the situation? -Why

26、last winter when our association was asked to come up with a show for the coming New Year ’Galas . The final exams were approaching and there were only 2 weeks before the celebration . Our previous group leader came up with a timetable for the following rehearsals. Before informing our members, as t
27、he vice president at that time , I was asked to recheck the plan: Practice every weekends , 5h per time, all were required to present. Several problems were found : (1) All the rehearsals were installed on weekends so there would only be 4 times before the show (2) It could be hard f
28、or people to be back on campus deliberately . (3) Overtime training would decrease the efficiency and waste our time. Therefore I told the president that this was not a good plan and explained my opinion: Practice every other day during weekdays after class at sunset when the campus was
29、 done with classes ,and review what we have learned personally when back home at weekends. I gave him my reasons for doing this: (1) We would be able to practice together for 3 times per week and 6 times in total , which was much more than the previous plan. (2) During week days people ar
30、e all on campus, ensuring the presence. They would be free after class generally. (3) 2h per time can be more acceptable and easier for their understanding. But he insisted in carrying out his plan, saying that practicing on weekends could promise the length of time , nobody could reach an agr
31、eement. In order to solve the problem I had a mini conference with all the members directly and explained them with the pros and corns of two plans. After they thoroughly understood them, a vote was launched and the timetable would be decided sequently. Eventually my plan was selected and we
32、 smoothed everything out efficiently until our flawless performance on the show. Because of our outstanding performance and cooperation we got the 2nd prize for that night. I was installed as our president after this time and acknowledged by group members. From this I got the idea of TEAMWORK. It does not only mean your bravery to challenge the authority, it requires more of the arrangement abilities under objective limitations and the understanding of your members. Keeping the fairness and defending for the interest of every team member can be the secret of achieving success.
