111 Module 2 Sporting Event Reading---學案 一、快捷識記 1.I am delighted to have been invited to you school to talk to you about the history and significance of the Olympic Games.我很高興被邀請到你們學校與你們談談有關奧運會的歷史和意義。 1) be delighted to do= be pleased to do 非常高興做某事。 be delighted at sth. 聽到……感到高興 I am delighted to hear of your success/ at your success.我對你的成功(聽到你成功的消息)感到很高興。 2) 句中to have been invited 是不定式的完成時態(tài),表示過去的或已完成的動作。 例如: He is sure to have seen the film. 他肯定看過這布電影。 He is said to have been to America. 據說他去過美國。 I am sorry to have brought you so much trouble. 我很抱歉給您帶來這么多麻煩。 2. compete vi. 競爭,對抗,比賽 compete against/ with each other 互相競爭 compete in sth.參賽 compete for sth. 為……而競爭 Several companies are competing against each other for the contract. 幾家公司正為爭取 項合同而互相競爭。 They are competing for medals. 他們在爭奪獎牌。 competitor比賽者,對手 competition (n.)比賽 competitive ( adj. ) 比賽的, 競賽的 3. It is / was … that/ who…強調句型。被強調的部分可以是句子的主語、賓語、表語、各種狀語(從句)等。例如,分別對下列句子劃線部分進行強調。 I met Tom at the party yesterday. — It was I who/ that met Tom at the party yesterday. — It was Tom who/that I met at the party yesterday. — It was at the party that I met Tom yesterday. — It was yesterday that I met Tom at the party. 5. At the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, Liu Xiang excited people all over Asia when he became the first Asian to win the gold medal in the men’s 110- metre hurdles. 在2004年雅典奧運會上,當劉翔成為第一個贏得男子110米跨欄金牌的亞洲人時,他使全亞洲的人都激動不已。 excite vt. 使(人或動物)興奮,激動,尤用于被動語態(tài)。 The children were very excited by the pantomime. 孩子們看了童話劇非常興奮。 Don’t excite yourself. 不要激動。 excited adj. 興奮的,激動的 ( 多指人).
