Students Analysis Children’s Day, play, some, say, poem, class, dragon dance, picnic Teaching Aids CAI, tape recorder, pictures, cards Teaching Procedures Step 1 Greeting Step 2 Warmer 1.On the board write the following sentence beginning and plements(sentence ending) Daming is doing… Lingling is sinning… Sam is saying… Amy is … a poem a play dancing a song 2.Tell the students to work in pairs. Have them look at the sentence beginning and ending and guess which beginnings go with which ending. These are clues in the sentence structures if they look carefully. Step 3 Activity 1 Listen point and find-ing. 1. Ask the children to look at the page. Elicit as much information about the story as you can in Chinese by asking questions. For example, point to the telephone and ask What’s this? Point to each picture and ask them what the people are doing. T: What is he/she doing? Ss: He’s/She’s …… 2.Play the cassette or read the dialogue. The children listen and follow in their books. S1: I’m learning a poem. S2: I’m rehearsing a play. S3: I’m …… 3.Play the cassette again, pausing after each utterance for the children to point at the corresponding picture. Perform a simple gesture to indicate the meaning. For example, drinking gestures for “are you drinking?”, dancing movements for “is he dancing?”. T: What is Daming doing now? Ss: He’s learning a poem. T: What is Lingling doing, now? Ss: She’s rehearsing a play with Amy. T: What is Sam doing now? Ss: He’s practicing a song for Children’s Day. 4.Play the cassette again. This time pause for the class to repeat each utterance. Encourage the class to perform actions as they repeat. 5.Repeat this activity, asking individual students to repeat the utterances. Alternatively, divide the class into groups. Step 4 Activity 2 Practise. 1.Ask the students about the things they do on Children’s Day and write their ideas on the board. 2.Invite five students to the front. Tell them to imagine it is Children’s Day. Have them mime an activity that they might do on Children’s Day. Now ask the question about other children in the picture. Say the poem from module 5: We are playing on the playground. 2. Talk about your pictures. 承接第一課時的作業(yè)，請有照片的同學到前面介紹照片。 .3 Look and say. 用PPT自制課件依次出示第一單元中，Sam is saying a poem. Daming is doing a play.等五張圖片，并What is he/ she (are they) doing 提問，引導學生用 He/ She is…或 They are…回答。 【任務呈現(xiàn)】 1. Introduce Tingting. 承接上一活動中的最后一幅圖，出示Tingting is drawing.的圖片。然后介紹 并提問：This is Tingting. What is she doing? 在學生回答She is drawing.后， 再問：Where is she drawing? Let’s look and listen to the story. 【任務準備】 1. plete Activity One. ① Listen to the story and get some individual students to answer the question. ② Show students the questions in Activity 2 one by one. Let’s go to the zoo and have a look what the animals are doing? The teacher will say what the animals are doing, then ask the students to tell the animals’ names. T: They are sleeping. What are they? S.s: They are giraffes.
