People in the United States love their dogs and treat them well. They take their dogs for walks, let them play outside and give them good food and medical care. However, dogs without owners to care for them lead a different kind of life. The expression, to lead a dogs life, describes a person who has an unhappy life. Some people say we live in a dog-eat-dog world. That means many people are peting for the same things, like good jobs. They say that to be successful, a person has to work like a dog. This means they have to work very, very hard. Such hard work can make people dog-tired.And, the situation would be even worse if they became sick as a dog. Husbands and wives use "doghouse" when they are angry at each other. For example, a woman might get angry at her husband for forgetting their wedding anniversary( 結(jié)婚紀念日).She might tell him that he is in the doghouse and treats him badly. However, the husband may decide that it is best to leave things alone and not create more problems. He might decide to let sleeping dogs lie. Some people are pared to dogs in bad ways. People who are unkind can be described as meaner than a junkyard dog. Junkyard dogs live in places where people throw away things they do not want. Mean dogs are often used to guard properties(房屋及院落). They bark or attack(攻擊)people who try to enter the property. However, sometimes a person who appears to be mean and threatening(威脅的)is really not so bad. We say his bark is worse than his bite. Dog expressions are also used to describe the weather. The dog days of summer are the hottest days of the year. A rainstorm may cool the weather. But we do not want it to rain too hard. We do not want it to rain cats and dogs. 1.Americans often do something with dogs except . A. walking dogs B. looking after dogs C. playing with dogs D. taking dogs to the restaurants 2. When Americans feel stressed out, they use to describe themselves. A. dog-eat-dog B. dog-tired C. mean dogs D. dog days 3.If a man es home late, his wife might say angrily, " ." think up 想出;put up 舉起,搭建;give up 放棄;get up 起床。 故選A。 3. Dad has had an accident. Please meet us at the Park Hospital"可知,只有"便條"才會這么簡短明了。 從文中的 "Dad has had an accident"以及 "a car hit my father"可知父親受傷很嚴重。 what I said 意為"我所說的話"。故選C。 10. They take their dogs for walks, let them play outside and give them good food and medical care"可知沒有提及帶狗到飯店(就餐)。 Such hard work can make people dog-tired"可知當美國人感到心力交瘁時,會用"dog-tired"來形容自己。 For example, a woman might get angry at her husband...She might tell him that he is in the doghouse"可推知選D。 One possible version: Almost every year in summer, many people are reported dead from drowning accidents. How to prevent such sad accidents? In my opinion, first, we shouldnt go swimming in dangerous places or places we know little about, such as reservoirs and rivers. Second, we had better not swim when we feel tired or hungry. If we see someone fall into the water, we should save him in a proper way. For example, we can shout as loudly as we can to get those with good swimming skills to help him. Life is valuable. We should take it seriously. We must remember that safety should always e first while swimming.- 1.
