But it could be difficult for them to remember faces that theyve only seen once. However, studies have found that super recognizers have amazing face recognition skills. They can remember at least 80 percent of faces theyve seen. At least one in 50 people are super recognizers, reported Daily Mail. Bournemouth University of UK recently carried out a study. They tried to find whether super recognizers have a different way to remember faces. They found that when these people look at faces, they spend more time looking at the persons noses. Researchers also found that these people are not smarter than others. Their super ability usually only helps them recognize faces. important finding is that there are subtypes(子類型) of super recognition. Some super recognizers never forget faces. But for some, if you show pairs of faces to them at the same time, they can quickly decide whether the faces are of the same person or two different people. In fact, many super recognizers say they are good at “spotting”(認(rèn)出) faces in a crowd. These subtypes of super recognition could be used in many areas of life. For example, the skills could be very useful at a passport control checkpoint. Super recognizers could also help the police spot known troublemakers, bad people or even missing people in crowds. 8. D How do you deal with plastic bags? Throw them away or reuse them? How about eating them? An Indian company named EnviGreen has made a kind of bag with natural ingredients. The bags look just like plastic ones, but they can be broken down in a few seconds. They bring no harm to the environment. People can even eat them. EnviGreen Founder Ashwath Hedge spent four years doing experiments with a combination of 12 natural ingredients. They include potatoes, corn, vegetable oil and bananas. He made the ingredients into liquid (液體) and used the liquid to make the bag. Although an EnviGreen bag is about 35 percent more expensive than a common plastic bag, it has many advantages. According to The Wall Street Journal, it takes 1,000 years for common plastic bags to break down. But an EnviGreen bag can naturally break down in less than 180 days. It also breaks down in less than a day in water, and in about 15 seconds in boiling water. Hedge was happy to show it in his interview. In the interview, he put an EnviGreen bag in water and ate it with a smile. According to Indias Minister of State for Atmosphere, Forest and Weather Change, the country produces more than 15,000 tons of plastic waste every day. But only 9,000 tons are processed (處理). In China, 3 billion plastic bags are used every day.
