How to complete the oral report Teaching Procedure: Step One: Reading T: (Greet the class as usual) In this unit, we mainly talked about friendship. It plays an important role in our lives. Everybody needs friends. However, girls and boys have different types of friendships and different attitudes towards friendship. Next please read the passage about different attitudes teenage boys and girls have about friendships and answer the following questions: 1) What puzzles Robert? 2) What’s the difference between girls and boys in their attitudes towards friendship? 3) What are boys’ and girls’ friendships each based on？ Suggested Answers: 1. Some things about Amanda and her friends. (He can’t understand what girls can talk about for so long.) 2. Girls always have a lot to talk about with their best friends and have more friendships than boys. Boys cannot name a single best friend. 3. Planning: n Work in small groups. You will discuss and decide on a certain topics on the different attitudes between boys and girls. Preparing: n Now that you have chosen your topic, your group will need to discuss and agree on an answer to each of the following questions: 1) What is the primary purpose o our survey? 2) How many questions we will ask? 3) Who will take our survey? Discuss the tasks listed below and decide which group member will responsible for the task. Presenting: l After the report is written, it is time to present your findings to the clad in an oral report. l Discuss the conclusions the group has come to regarding differences between the attitudes of teenage boys girls. l Answer any questions your classmates have about your survey or results. l Post a copy of your survey and results on the display wall of your classroom.
