Learn how to conduct a discussion. Procedures： Step 1 Greetings Step 2 Doing a game Do an interesting game called “Chinese whisper”. (The man who laughs last laughs the best.) Step 3 Asking questions 1. What do we need to do when we are asked to pass information? 1). Correct grammar errors and spelling mistakes. 2). Make changes to the information in the text. 3). Change the style of the text. 2. What should we remeber to do when we are listening? 1). Read the questions or instructions carefully. 2). Listen closely when spelling is given. 3). Pay attention to words or phrases that express contradiction. (No, I don’t think so./That’s not right./Are you sure?/And I think it should be…) Step 4 Listening 1. Read the notes and try to guess whether they are correct or not. 2. Listen to the tape and correct the notes. Step 5 Confirming information 1. Ask questions about cloning and food from cloned plants and animals. 2. Listen to the tape and make notes while listening. 3. Check the notes. 4. Listen again to deal with some true or false questions. Step 6 Conducting a discussion 1. Learn how to ask for people’s opinions. (What do you think? / Don’t you think so? /Do you agree? / Is that your opinion too?) 2. Introduce new ideas to the discussion. （Another argument is that… / Don’t forget… / On the other hand, … /We can also…） 3. plete an interview form, writing some corresponding questions. 4. Have a discussion about food from cloned plants and animals. Step 7 Homework Preview the following part and finish the workbook exercises.
