Unit 1 What does she look like? (The first period) Teaching aims: 1.Learn the new words: tall, short, long hair, round face, young, old. 2. Master the following patterns: what does she look like? She is... She has... Teaching main and difficult points: 1 the adjectives of general description. 2 describe peoples looks. Teaching steps: Step1.Warming-up Games: Robert Dance目的在于活躍氣氛,調(diào)動學(xué)生的積極性,減少學(xué)生的緊張情緒。加之五官屬于人的長相的范疇,所以與此課人物外貌相關(guān)連,這樣引入就能自然過渡到本節(jié)課的內(nèi)容。人物前活動用于掃除學(xué)生的語言障礙,因此在教學(xué)上以激發(fā)學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)興趣為主,通過活動讓學(xué)生感知、操練語言,為下一步活動做好鋪墊。 Rulers: I say touch your eyes/ears/ nose/mouth/shoulder/legs/arm. you should do it .If you are wrong, you have to sit down. The person who does it correctly is the winner. after that we begin to study our lesson. Step2.Presentation T: Do you like Miss Yan? Ss: Yes. T: Why? Ss: Because you are beautiful. T: Thank you. Do you like her?(圖片展示) Ss: Yes. T: OK, I know you think she is a beautiful girl, too. Today, we will learn Unit 1 What does she look like? ( 圖片展示同時板書。) Then teach the new words and new sentences pattern. The teacher uses the pictures to lead and teach the new words and the new sentence pattern. And then ask the Ss to describe the classmates. 先利用圖片展示進(jìn)行新單詞句型的引入,讓學(xué)生熟悉。接著要求其他同學(xué)描述三位外貌典型的同學(xué),再小組練習(xí)。這樣更形象,更貼近生活,學(xué)生更容易接受,加強(qiáng)了學(xué)生間的合作與交流。再按發(fā)形,身高,體重的類別練習(xí)以免混淆,同時加深記憶。在教學(xué)的過程中,我要求學(xué)生描述教室里聽課的老師,學(xué)生們十分激動,想著能用英語描述自己的老師了,他們特別高興。此時的氣氛很活躍。 It’s the first day of new term. Lingling and Peter are talking about their new Chinese teacher. Now listen to the tape and then please tell me what does she look like. Which is their new Chinese teacher Picture A or B? Listen again and read after the tape. Role acting Step3. Pair work At first the teacher gives the Ss an example. Then ask Ss practice like this. A: What does he look like? B: He has short hair. He is tall. He has a round face. 這樣完整地描述人的外表是為后面能安排、完成任務(wù)做鋪墊,同時能檢測學(xué)生的掌握情況,以便老師隨時調(diào)控。 Step4.Practice Guessing game: At first the teacher gives the Ss an example. Then ask Ss to describe anyone in the classroom. Let the others guess. 這個游戲的安排目的是讓學(xué)生通過他人的描述,去發(fā)現(xiàn)別人的外部特征。培養(yǎng)學(xué)生聽、說以及辨別能力,同時可活躍課堂氣氛。 Free talk: talk about any person who you like. 這是一個任務(wù)教學(xué),讓學(xué)生描述自己的家人、朋友及喜愛的明星,增添他人對自己的了解。學(xué)生拿出事先準(zhǔn)備好的自己最喜愛的電影、足球明星,在小組里輪流進(jìn)行描述。然后在組與組之間進(jìn)行資源共享,讓學(xué)生在講臺上用投影儀進(jìn)行展示。(通過這一活動,使學(xué)生在掌握一定的英語基礎(chǔ)知識和基本技能,能與小組成員合作共同完成學(xué)習(xí)任務(wù),發(fā)展語言的綜合運(yùn)用能力,并創(chuàng)造性地使用英語表達(dá)自己的思想)。 Describe and draw Ask Ss to describe “What do you look like when you are 20 years old and draw a picture of it. 設(shè)計(jì)這個任務(wù)目的在于讓學(xué)生能學(xué)有所用,想象設(shè)計(jì)一下自己20歲風(fēng)華正茂時的樣子,并畫出來,讓此堂課別開生面,樂趣橫生。同時這培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的多種能力,讓其能動手動口。 在學(xué)生掌握好的前面的知識的基礎(chǔ)上再處理學(xué)習(xí)書上的知識,就化難為簡,學(xué)生才能得心應(yīng)手,同時讓學(xué)生整體回顧本節(jié)課的重點(diǎn)內(nèi)容。 Motto;Never judge a book by its covers. 此格言的安排是為了培養(yǎng)學(xué)生尊重他人的品德,不以貌取人。 Step5.Homework 1. Copy the sentences in grammar focus. 2. Describe your friend, your parent, your teacher or any other person, and then write it down in your exercise book 通過以上幾步的語言輸入練習(xí),讓學(xué)生在進(jìn)一步創(chuàng)造性活用所學(xué)語言,提高學(xué)生的寫作能力。 Unit 1 What does she look like? (The second period) 能力目標(biāo) : 1.學(xué)完本課,學(xué)會描述人物外貌。 2.能積極思維,運(yùn)用所學(xué)單詞,短語及句型,結(jié)合實(shí)際生活進(jìn)行靈活運(yùn)用。情感目標(biāo): 讓學(xué)生學(xué)會友好地描述別人的形象。 (二)教學(xué)重點(diǎn): 掌握本課新單詞、句型和怎樣描述一個人的外貌。 (三)教學(xué)難點(diǎn): 掌握運(yùn)用動詞have和be描述人物外貌的方法。 Teaching steps: Step1.Warming-up Free talk: 讓學(xué)生描述自己的家人、朋友及喜愛的明星,增添他人對自己的了解。學(xué)生拿出事先準(zhǔn)備好的自己最喜愛的電影、足球明星,在小組里輪流進(jìn)行描述。 S1: I like Yao Ming very much. He is very tall. He has a big face... S2: Li Na is a good tennis player. She is beautiful. She has a round face... Step 2Let’sPractice. Show the pictures of teachers and then ask some students to talk about their teachers’looks. S1: My Chinese teacher is Ms Huang. S2: What does she look like? S1: She’s not very tall. She has big eyes and a round face. S2: That’s Ms Huang. xK1.C om Step 3Let’s Read. Read the E-mails and then please fill in the chart. Please tell me something about Nancy’s maths teacher and Jane’s English teacher. Then write an E-mail to your friend and tell them something about your teacher’s looks. Step 4Let’s Write. Write about your English teacher. And then talk about it with your partners. Step 5Let’s Have Fun Listen to the tape. Next, read after the tape. Then, read it together. Have a performance.
