Start Tracking Your Gaming Time One of the reasons why video games eat up so much time is that they’re so engaging.I can’t count how many times I’ve sat down to play games for “a couple of minutes” then looked up to see hours have gone by. “Tracking your gaming time can help,” says psychologist John M.Grohol.Prepare a spreadsheet or a piece of paper, and write down when you start playing a game and when you stop.__1__ I found it helpful. Start Choosing Games Wisely __2__ MMOs and RPGs, for example, are major time sinks.I would probably cry if I looked at my total time spent during the golden age of World of Warcraft. If you’re having a hard time stepping away from these kinds of games because there’s so much to do in them, cut them out of your gaming diet.__3__ That way, you can play in short bursts.I still indulge in these kinds of games occasionally, but I don’t play as much as I used to. Figure out What You’re Escaping Video games are a fun way to destress and also one of the most advanced forms of escapism out there. To reduce my gaming thirst, I started looking at my escapism habits from another angle.__4__ Video games do offer a nice respite from the harsh truths of reality.More often than not, I would be able to identify the things that were stressing me out and making me want to escape to virtual worlds in the first place. If work was getting me down, I’d make a practical plan on how to improve it instead of grabbing a controller.__5__ The real world doesn’t always offer that, but it never will if you always run from the issues in your life. A.Why not get away from the game you are crazy about? B.Shift your focus to games that are more pickupandplay. C.Then add up your total gaming time at the end of each week. D.We find it hard to get rid ourselves of the addiction to games. E.I asked myself “What am I hiding from?” and worked from there. F.Some games require a much bigger time investment than other games. G.We often run to video games because they make us feel powerful and in control. 1.選C 根據上一句中的“write down when you start playing a game and when you stop”記錄你開始游戲和結束游戲的時間可知,C項“然后匯總記錄的時間”承接上文。 2. 3.選B 根據下一句話“That way, you can play in short bursts.” Figure out What You’re Escaping可以得出答案。 5. B One of my earliest memories was watching my mom talk on our old phone. I was fascinated that she could talk to someone who wasn’t actually in the room with her. __1__ I was wondering how she managed to talk with someone she couldn’t see. __2__ Later, we had mobile phones that could be carried around the room. Then came puters and smartphones. These days I can send an email around the world in a second. My daughter’s smartphone has a hundred apps and a dozen social media accounts. She stores all of her information in a mysterious place known as “the cloud”, where she can take it out at any time. It seems that we are more connected in this world than ever before. __3__ Few take the time to talk face to face. Instead of looking into the eyes of our loved ones, we stare at our screens. It seems as if the most connected generations are also the loneliest. Don’t let technology take our time and ruin our life. Make the time to meet, to pray and to municate with each other. Take a walk on the beach with a friend. Have a long conversation with the phones off and the hearts on. __4__ Remember that we are here to love each other, help each other and make this world a better place. __5__ But when it can’t, turn it off. A.That was a long time ago. B.Connect offline as well as online. C.Smartphones have both advantages and disadvantages. D.We should municate with each other with phones off. E.When your technology can help to do these things, then use it. F.However, what bothers me is that we rarely associate with each other nowadays. G.When she left the room, I slowly walked over to the phone and stared at it for a while. 2.選A 根據空后的“Later, we had mobile phones ... Then came puters and smartphones. These days I can send an email”可知,作者闡述了隨著時間的變化,家中的通信工具也發(fā)生了改變。 C (2018寧波市上學期期末測試)Do you usually feel you’re working hard but still can’t reach your study goals? Here are some quick tips to help you study better. ?Study with a partner or in groups Rather than live in a cave with your nose in the books all day, grab a friend from your class and study with him.__1__. ?Step into your teacher’s shoes Ask yourself “If I were the teacher, what would I put on the test?” You have probably experienced a lot of your teacher’s tests and quizzes by now.__2__. Teachers have specific types of information that they want you to learn. The structure is usually the same. ?Paint pictures on the paper You can build your knowledge structure in the form of pictures. It’s harder to remember each piece of a puzzle individually than it is to recall the pleted picture.__3__. ?__4__ A hungry brain is an ineffective one.Your brain needs the proper nutrients to keep it going.Because of this, what you eat and drink also plays a huge role in how sharp your brain is.Healthy foods provide nutrients to your brain cells to keep them energized. ?Take breaks to relax your brain Your brain is like a muscle. It can be also tired if you overwork it. __5__. Study after study shows that drinking enough water defends against problems from head to toe.Water is a basic need for cell health.__1__.So pour yourself a nice big glass sit back, and take a look at the many benefits being well hydrated (保持充足水分) can bring to your health. You’ll have lots of energy __2__.
