We have been to the California State Capital Building, the nature center, and the zoo. I have seen many interesting things, but one stands out above the rest. This morning we drove from my aunts home to Calistoga to see Californias Old Faithful Geyser(老忠實泉). I had read about it in my book, Sightseeing in California; Where You Should Go. You have probably heard of Old Faithful, the geyser farther north in Yellowstone National Park. This California geyser is sometimes called "Little Old Faithful." When we arrived, Californias Old Faithful was only a calm pool of water. The geyser didnt look very deep. "Whats the big deal?" I wondered. As I turned, I saw some steam rising from the water. Before I knew it, there was hot water shooting up about 60 feet into the air. We could not believe our eyes! It continued for almost three minutes. Aunt Gloria told me that the water came from an underground river. She also said that the water temperature was about 95℃. This water can sometimes shoot 170 feet into the air. My aunt said that other geysers around the world reach hotter temperatures and shoot water even higher than Californias Old Faithful Geyser. Id love to learn more about this geyser and other geysers in different countries when I get home. Ill see you soon! Your friend, Bennetto 1.According to the text, Bennetto______. He said, “The 1 between successful people and unsuccessful people is that successful people 2 many more times than unsuccessful people.” I deeply understood the 3 of the quote soon after my first book was published. I was living in Atlanta at the time and 4 my first signing sale for my new book at the Phoenix and Dragon, the largest bookstore in the city. Although a nice sign was placed outside the room 5 images of both me and my book, The 9 Insights of the Wealthy Soul, not a single customer entered the room. 6 each minute passed, I became increasingly7 . At 6:25 pm, just before the store’s 8 , I began to get myself ready to leave. At that moment, just when I couldn’t feel any 9 , a middle-aged couple walked into the room. I managed to 10 my emotions and introduced myself and my book. The couple turned the pages each other, and the husband 11 to his wife. She then told me, “I think we’ll get the book.” Despite the impulse(沖動) to jump 12 , and hold their hands to thank them for being my 13 readers, I realized the woman was trying to say something else. “The 14 we’re buying it is that our son died two years ago,” she said. “Maybe your book will help us 15 it.” At that moment, I knew if I never sold a copy of the book, my four years of 16 had been meaningless. Although I would have many more challenging years 17 my book became a bestseller, this couple’s story was all the 18 I needed at that point to keep me 19 . Thanks to them, I would realize that the greatest of lives are made all in the same way: One challenge … one difficulty … one step … and one small 20 at a time. 1.A.similarityB.interestC.differenceD.advantage 2.A.ownB.failC.tryD.experience 3.A.faultB.keyC.wisdomD.secret 4.A.refusedB.arrangedC.decidedD.waited 5.A.showingB.includingC.drawingD.selling 6.A.AsB.WhileC.WithD.When 7.A.excitedB.anxiousC.angryD.curious 8.A.rentedB.openingC.crowdedD.closing 9.A.betterB.badC.goodD.worse 10.A.expressB.readC.hideD.push 11.A.saidB.noddedC.repliedD.talked 12.A.on endB.in the airC.in a rowD.on the ground 13.A.reliableB.firstC.welingD.old 14.A.reasonB.impactC.purposeD.result 15.A.look throughB.find outC.get overD.e across 16.A.writingB.advertisingC.studyingD.waiting 17.A.sinceB.unlessC.untilD.after 18.A.decisionB.informationC.motivationD.material 19.A.falling downB.moving aheadC.putting forwardD.losing courage 20.A.successB.failureC.sorrowD.pleasure One year ago, I was in great trouble. So I asked my grandpa for suggestions when I got to home. Hear what I told him, he said, “Exam results are sometime unexpected .
